I have being trying to decide what to do about the quality of my children's education since their birth. Private school is not an option considering that's 4X$$$$. I finally discovered charter schools. Abigail has been accepted 2x and finally the 3rd time we can actually commit. I am excited by the opportunity this presents. The school is in an older school in an older neighborhood that no longer had the child population to warrant keeping the school open. The parents in the neighborhood met with other successful charter schools and 2007-2008 will be the 1st year of Canyon Rim Academy. The school will follow the "Core Knowledge" curriculum and Saxon math. John keeps asking why I'm so hot on Charter schools and I have 3 answers for him:
1. My education in the traditional setting was mediocre and I am hoping the experience proves better for my children.
2. The school is controlled by parents at the school level and not ran by a district.
3. UNIFORMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (need I say more)
Last night I took Abigail with me on a date to see the school. She is not as enthusiastic as I am because she doesn't want to leave her friends. I tried to explain that we are only renting a house and next year she would be going to a different school anyway. Also, her best friend will also be attending the charter school. (YEAH!)
Our evening was not all about school. Abigail loves going to Soup and Salad places so that's what we did for dinner. Then after the charter school open house we went to the mall. As any good mother would do I told her she could have a treat, ice cream or See's chocolate. She is definitely my daughter and went for the chocolate! We then stopped off at a few shops and but her and the buys a few things. For Abigail, no mall outing would be complete without a visit to Bath and Body Works. She loves trying all the different lotions. She is such a girlie girl which is nice considering she has 3 brothers.

I love Bath and Body Works too! I have tons of lotions, bubble bath, shower gel, candles, and spray's from them. It is so fun to go in and check out all the cool stuff there. Abigal is a girl after my own heart. :)
Typical girl, chocolate and delicious scents.
