The Great Pumpkin Hunt

When we lived in Spokane every fall we would go pick pumpkin and apples at farms in the Green Valley area. My kids have been asking when we could do this again so I found a pick your own farm that offered both here in Utah. I printed out the directions and loaded my four kids plus our cousin Day in the car about 1:30 and took off. I guess I didn't really guess the travel time correctly. We took a potty stop at the airforce musuem and (45 minutes) and at 4:30 arrived at the pumpkin patch/apple orchards. Well it was a very small farm of about 5 acres, we did pick pumpkins but the trees were bare. I stopped for dinner about 6:30 and fed all the kids and we got home about 8:40pm. So if we calculate the gas, food, and FIGHTING my $2 pumpkin adventure probably became a $2000(factoring in my energy to keep yelling at the kids to stop fighting!) We did have fun but the irony is when I went to Walmart latter that night and their pumpkins had been marked down to $1.97. Oh and did I mission that friend told me about a pumpkin patch 20 miles away (of course this was the day after I got back).
